Our Purpose Devotion

December 5th
Declaring it to be So!

The Apostle Paul prayed, that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened to what the inheritance is in the saints. We are the saints, and God the Father wants us to awaken to what He set in motion in us. Every believer has working in them desires for strong faith. Abraham’s faith stands out as strong faith. Think about it, He waited for the manifestation of the promise of a son and once he had him, God asked Abraham to sacrifice him. Abraham’s faith in God and His promise, was so strong that he received Isaac by faith already risen from the dead before they arrived at the mountain where the sacrifice was to take place. Before Isaac was born, God said to Abraham, “you will become a father of many nations,” when he and his wife were well past the age of child bearing. God brings life to all situations and to all people. He calls those things that are not as though they were.

Romans 4:17
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Notice that, God said, I have made you a father of many nations before it manifested. He brings life to that which appears to be dead. He brings life where it seems like it’s impossible for there to be any. He calls those things that be not as though they were. He does not call those things that are as though they are not. He does not deny the existence of something to bring about the desires He wants. No, He brings life by calling it so, when it seems to be not so. After all, isn’t that the definition of “amen” “so be it.” If the Word of God says it’s so, then we declare it is so! All believing must be based on God’s Word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by Him speaking to us. If God says it so when it seems as if it’s not, then we are to do the same. We must declare what God says is so, as so! Confession is saying the same things as God. Abraham received the Word from God, and God said to him that his seed will be as numerable as the sand. So right then God changed his name from Abram to Abraham; meaning a father of a multitude. As many as the grains of sand in multitude. That’s a lot; but naturally speaking there was no hope to stand on. But God and His faithfulness in times past, strengthened Abraham’s position, which caused him to look at that which was solid. He considered not what was declaring to him it’s impossible, and He considered God’s faithfulness to perform His Word. As far as He was concerned no matter how much things were against him, God will be faithful to bring to pass what He said. He judged God faithful, and that Word from the Father was his hope.

Romans 4:18
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

God is so faithful to what He promised, and this is our firm foundation to build on. Declare it is so!
